Consists of a number of newspapers from Waco, San Francisco, El Paso, Tombstone, and New York, 1873-1887. Also a pamphlet and menu from early El Paso. The Report of the Secretary of War, 1848, was transferred to the Library.
Gift of Mary Boykin. Her father was Zack White, prominent pioneer of El Paso who owned Hotel Paso Del Norte, with daughters Mrs. Boykin and Mrs. Paul Harvey.

Gift of Dr. James Kimmins Greer (in 1983) of Waco, who was an historian and author/editor of several books on history, including a biography of Jack Hays and the memoirs and biography of Buck Barry, Texas Ranger. Greer had a doctor of philosophy degree in history (U of Texas) and for 16 years was head of the history dept. at Howard College in Birmingham, Alabama.

Consists of photocopies of some personal files and scrapbook material (including photographs) of Texas Ranger Robert G. Goss. It was first given to the J.E. Clark family of Shreveport and then to Judge Fitzgerald. The original material is being offered to the Texas Ranger Museum at Waco. It may be returned to us it they do not accept it. However these photocopies will be useful in following the career of Range Goss through several important events in the 1930’s such as the Houston Dock Strike of 1936, events in Kilgore in 1936-39, the London School Disaster in 1937 and other criminal cases.
