Major Collections The twenty six Major Collections range in size from 24 inches to as many as 15 to 20 file cabinets. Those most used are the J. Evetts Haley, Robert N. Mullin, Clayton Wheat Williams, Sr. and Dan L. Thrapp Collections. Other important Major Collections are E. E, Smith, Miles B. Hart, Hervey E. Chesley, Harold D. Bugbee and Lestor Blake Wood.
Small Collections The 38 Small Collections range from single items to about 12 to 18 inches. They contain ranch records, diaries, interviews and a wide range of useful material.
The Texas Confederate Museum Collection
This Collection has been placed at the Haley Library by the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Texas Division. It has two sections of rare research material:The R. S."Rip" Ford Papers and the General Files.
The Ford Papers (letters and documents) date from 1861 to 1865.
The General Files are small collections of material from some thirty different Texas UCV Camps and UDC Chapters (post-war period). They include rosters, minutes, letters etc. |
